Bacolod pushes for institutionalization of feeding program
The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod passed an ordinance on first reading Wednesday that institutionalizes the Bacolod City feeding program for undernourished children in public day care, kindergarten, and elementary schools.
The measure, authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella and dubbed the “Bacolod City Feeding Program Ordinance,” will be implemented to address childhood malnutrition in the city.

-supplemental feeding program for day care children
-school based feeding program; milk feeding program
-Gulayan sa Paaralan and Barangay program; and
-water, sanitation, and hygiene.
The City of Bacolod will allocate funds for the ordinance’s initial implementation from the 1% LCPC Fund.
Following that, any sums required for the continued implementation of the ordinance will be included in the annual budget, according to the proposed ordinance.
