Bacolod postpones charter day events due to to Covid concerns
Bacolod City has postponed “indefinitely” the celebration of its 83rd Charter Day, Mayor Evelio Leonardia announced.
The “Bacolod City Charter Day” was supposedly set today, June 18.
In a statement, Leonardia said city officials have decided to postpone the celebration “until better times come” because of the present Covid-19 figures. (https://bit.ly/3wFzmAw)
The decision was upon the recommendation of the Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force chaired by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, and the Emergency Operations Center led by executive director and City Administrator Em Ang, the mayor also said.
“The postponement of our celebration is indefinite until better times come. We hope for the understanding of our people as this is a move to contain Covid-19,” according to him.
