Bacolod fest to feature culinary destinations
For three days from Dec. 19 to 21, food products from local government units of Negros Occidental will be featured in a food festival in Bacolod City.
Dubbed “Kaon Na ‘Ta,” the festival is to be held at the soon-to-open Ayala Capitol Central in Bacolod City.
“It will also position the province as one of the country’s food destinations,” said provincial supervising tourism operations officer Cristine Mansinares.
Mansinares added the festival seeks to encourage more people to know more about the province’s local cuisine.
Organizers of the event are the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Ayala Malls, as well as the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Similar events had been held in areas with Ayala Malls in Legazpi, Davao and Cebu Cities.
During the fest, local government units will also showcase their unique and new dishes and cuisines through the food parade.
Invited to the event are Negrense chefs, including Nico Millanes, Don Colmenares, Joerri Arro, Patrick Go, Nino Laus, JP Anglo, Margarita Flores and Kalel Demetrio.
Negros Occidental will also be featured as a farm tourism destination, with speakers who will talk on various topics focusing on the promotion of healthy, sustainable and green practices in farms, hotels, restaurants and other tourism establishments.
