Bacolod City Council defers reso declaring Kevin Tan ‘adopted son’

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
The Bacolod City Council deferred the adoption of a resolution declaring businessman Kevin Tan an “adopted” son of the city.
Before Councilor Jason Villarosa read his proposed resolution during the regular session on Wednesday, Councilor Thaddeus Sayson noticed that copies of it distributed to councilors did not include the request letter from Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez seeking such a resolution.
Sayson suggested that before the council gives its approval, Benitez submit a request letter to the council. (https://bit.ly/3T1jfbk)
The mayor, according to Villarosa, verbally requested the passage of such a proposed resolution.
Tan is the CEO and Vice Chairman of Alliance Global Inc., a holding company that owns real estate through Megaworld Corporation, hospitality and property management through Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., and liquor through Emperador Inc.
