Bacolod City Council approves P28.7M for quarantine centers

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod has approved the amount of P28.7 million for the preparation of 10 additional quarantine centers and the improvement of other facilities in response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) situation in the city.

The amount will be used for the improvement of the facilities at the Handumanan National High School, Handumanan Elementary School, Bata National High School, Luis Hervias National High School in Brgy. Villamonte, and A.L. Jayme Elementary School in Brgy. Mansilingan. (https://bit.ly/34S69rk)

The appropriation will also be used for the improvement of quarantine isolation facilities in Brgy. Alijis; the Evacuation Center and the Youth Home in Brgy. Vista Alegre; the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient Center at the BAYS Center; and the improvement of drainage system at the BAYS Center area and other quarantine facilities in various barangays.

Meanwhile, Bacolod is now ranked No. 1 in Western Visayas with the most number of Covid-19 cases. The city breached the 1,000-mark with 1,216 confirmed cases on Sunday.

The figure did not include results from the “Timeout Weekend” mass testing held from August 28 to 31 in the province of Negros Occidental.
