Bacolod City announces 2018 MassKara dates
MassKara, the world-famous festival in Bacolod City, will have its 39th iteration on Oct. 8 to 28 this year, the Silver MassKara Festival Organization said.
The organizers said the events include Electric MassKara, Street and Arena Dance Competitions, and Sadya ang MassKara with Mayor Bing National Fireworks Competition.
It noted the festival highlights will end on Oct. 28 due to an ordinance marking the fourth Sunday of October as the permanent date of the MassKara Festival highlights.
For this year, three festival sites will serve as hubs of the celebration: the Bacolod Public Plaza, Lacson Tourism Strip, and Bacolod City Government Center grounds.
Last July 28, the SMFO conducted an orientation with the participants of the 2018 Street and Arena Dance Competition – Barangay Category.
At least 15 entries are in the Street and Arena Dance Competition – Barangay Category for this year.
Meanwhile, the organizers will provide a uniform music for the Street Dance competition, while the participants will provide originally composed or remixed music for the Arena Dance competition.
There will be a special award for the Best in Original Music to one of the participating contingents.
