Nandaya? La Castellana mayor-elect faces poll protest
Another defeated candidate in the recently concluded May 13 elections in Negros Occidental has lodged a protest, claiming he was cheated of victory.
Felix “Chad” Feria IV filed a protest to call for a recount after losing to Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan as mayor of La Castellana town.
In his election protest and petition for recount, Feria claimed the election was marred with fraud, terrorism, and illegal acts.
But Mangilimutan, who received information on Feria’s election protest, denied claims of cheating, adding it is his right to file his protest.
Feria is the third defeated mayoral bet to file an election protest after Joselito Malabor (Isabela), who is seeking a recount after losing to Dr. Irene Montilla; and Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Pena who lost to his niece Vice Mayor Ella Garcia Yulo.
