Allot for socialized housing, Labella reminds developers
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has called on developers to set aside socialized housing projects for the benefit of the underprivileged Cebuanos.
It is difficult to see some people enjoying luxurious and sophisticated life in either condominiums or gated subdivisions while some hardly have decent houses to go home to, said Labella.
The politiko enjoined local developers to strictly adhere to the law requiring them to allocate at least 10 percent of their total portfolio to socialized housing projects. Projects, according to him, should be located within Cebu City so that the City’s constituents will be able to take advantage of it.
In 2018, the Home Development Mutual Fund urged local government units to partner with the agency to provide affordable housing units to their respective constituents.
