Albee Benitez vows to expand NOCHP in Bacolod

If elected as mayor of Bacolod City, former Rep. Albee Benitez plans to bring the much successful Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) to Bacolod City if elected as mayor of Bacolod City.

Both Benitez and the late Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. were instrumental in the implementation of NOCHP in Negros Occidental since 2010.

According to the former Provincial Economic Consultant on Economic Affairs, the health program is one of the most crucial and needed programs in any local government unit. (

NOCHP provides free hospitalization and related medical services to indigents in all government managed hospitals in the province.

Meanwhile, Benitez said he will sit down with private hospital owners for the recognition of health cards to be issued to the poorest of the poor, which is to be called Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program.
