Aklan gov mulls easy pre-entry requirements for Boracay tourists
To make it easier for tourists to come to Boracay Island, Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores said the pre-entry restriction will be relaxed.
The provincial government will develop a simple Quick Response (QR Code) system for tourists visiting the island resort.
With the relaxed restrictions, Miraflores issued Executive Order No. 003 on July 4, 2022 lifting the QR code pre-entry requirement for Aklanons and returning travelers whose point of destination is mainland Aklan only. (https://bit.ly/3Im3ebT)
Miraflores intends to streamline the QR code system to keep the influx of Boracay tourists in check.
As of this date, travelers will be able to enter mainland Aklan without having to complete a digital registration, although this does not apply to visitors heading to Boracay.
Visitors accessing the island must use the AkQuire system to access the QR code on www.touristboracay.com and always adhere to the minimal health requirements.
Thet must prepare their Covid-19 vaccination card or certificate, hotel booking confirmation, travel details, and personal information to obtain a QR-code electronically.
For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers, they need to present a negative swab or saliva test result within 72 hours before travelling to Aklan.
