15 Boracay workers test positive for Covid-19
Fifteen employees of a high-end hotel in Boracay Island tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
They were part of the 436 hotels/resorts workers who underwent routing swabbing between January 19 and 22.
Some of those who tested positive for the virus were symptomatic, according to Aklan Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Cornelio Cuachon Jr. (https://bit.ly/39X0BwA)
No hotel guests were identified as close contacts.
However, high-risk hotel employees were told to self-isolate.
The Aklan Provincial Epidemiological and Surveillance Unit has started checking the places visited by the patients and recommended the temporary suspension of the hotel’s operation for disinfection.
Boracay recorded its first Covid-19 case last December 14, 2020, an employee of a high-end hotel at Station 1.
