115 NPA supporters surrender in Negros Occidental
Over 100 supporters of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Negros Occidental province returned to the folds of the law last week, Panay News reported.
On February 22, 80 NPA supporters swore allegiance to the government at the headquarters of the 79th Infantry Battalion (79th IB) of the Philippine Army in Sagay City.
The rebel supporters were from E.B. Magalona, Manapla, Victorias City, and Cadiz City.
Thirty-five NPA sympathizers also pledged allegiance to the government in the 79th IB headquarter last February 23.
They were from barangays Binaguiohan, Pinapugasan, Paitan, and Dian-ay in Escalante City.
Lieutenant Colonel Emelito Thaddeus Logan, commanding officer of the 79th IB, expressed gratitude for the numerous turnouts of Negrenses who are now renouncing their support to the communist NPA terrorist.
