Tommy Osmeña to run to Duterte for BDO’s tax case in Cebu
It seems that the President’s deputies are blocking the cases, so the mayor will take the last resort.
Mayor Tomas “Tommy” Osmeña is dumbfounded on the order of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II for a local prosecutor to stop handling the case which was filed by the Cebu City Prosecutor’s office against BDO Unibank, who was reportedly discovered to have been misdeclaring incomes to evade taxes.
Prior to this, the politiko claims to have observed Presidential Adviser for Visayas Michael Dino as “openly defending” the bank owned by bilyonaryo Henry Sy. With these roadblocks, Osmeña said her has no choice but to tackle the problem directly with President Rodrigo Duterte.
“I will request an audience with him when he is available. I know he is handling many things right now, but I think this matter is serious enough to bring to his attention,” Osmeña said on Facebook.
He has already discussed the issue with Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III during his visit in Cebu. Stay tuned!
