Sila na naman? Cops eye NPAs in ABB leader’s killing

Police in Negros Occidental are eyeing the communist New People’s Army in the killing of a leader of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade in Salvador Benedicto town last July 8.

Acting provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil said this is one of the angles they are verifying in the fatal shooting of Charlie Boliboli.

Nine armed assailants gunned down Boliboli last July 8 at Sitio Agbalasyang in Barangay Bago in Salvador.

Castil said they are also looking into a grudge as one of the possible motives for the killing of Boliboli.

Senior Inspector Joevito Bose, Salvador Benedicto police chief, said Boliboli’s nephew was with him when he was attacked.

Castil cited information indicating Boliboli was affiliated with the RPA-ABB, which forged a peace agreement with the government in 2000.
