Save the date! Albee Benitez’s Disneyland-like theme park opening in end-2018

A theme park patterned after Disneyland is set to open in Negros Occidental by the end of 2018.

Magic Kingdom, which is being constructed on a five-hectare lot in Silay City, is a project of Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo “Albee” Benitez.

Speaking to Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo, Benitez revealed that Magic Kingdom will feature 15 major rides, with small rides for kids.

“It will be a Disneyland that is purely Filipino,” he said.

Benitez said he has asked director Peque Gallaga to come up with Pinoy/fantasy horror attractions which the lawmaker hopes to also turn into merchandise.

Gallaga is best known for the “Shake, Rattle and Roll” franchise, and directing other horror films.
