This politiko has been branded as “too harsh” to violators of the new traffic rule.

Mayor Tomas “Tommy” Osmeña took drastic measures just to ease the worsening road congestion in Cebu City, so he went with a strict implementation of a no-counterflow rule along major roads and streets.

While the regulation is supposed to benefit all, the politiko still fetched a number of haters and bashers for the new ordinance, especially the blanket 30-day impounding of vehicles for violators.

Some say it’s too much.

Another went as far as calling Osmeña “disgusting” given the view that the rule was anti-poor.

Osmeña, however, is standing by the new traffic 101. Don’t want to be impounded? Don’t violate the rule, the mayor said.
