Mayor Remollo asks for DPWH’s help in designing 2 bridges for Dumaguete City
Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said the Department of Public Works and Highways-Region VII (DPWH-VII) is helping the city government with the design of two bridges intended to replace two spillways destroyed by a typhoon in 2017.
The two bridges will be built at the Bagacay spillways and at the back of the Foundation University.
The Dumaguete politiko said they asked for the DPWH’s help because it is the first time they will build bridges using the city government’s funds.
“Technical help was needed because this is the first time that the city is constructing bridges with funds coming from the local coffers,” Remollo said.
He said he is optimistic the design will be finished by the end of July.
