Mayor Quisumbing: Mandaue allots P100M for flood mitigation
Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said the city government will spend P100 million to mitigate flooding in the city’s low-lying areas.
The Cebu politiko said slope protection will be built for the Butuanon river and Mahiga Creek.
“We hope to get this done faster to solve the flooding in the city especially working on the outfall of this two rivers and its slope protection,” said Quisumbing.
Quisumbing said an initial P58 million will be used to upgrade the area around Butuanon Bridge along Pacific Mall towards Cambogaoang Bridge in time for the International River Summit in October.
He also said the slopes of Mahiga creek are being strengthened and deepend for better outfall.
