Mayor Petracorta: Solar power plant to lower electricity rates in Limasawa
Limasawa Mayor Nilo Petracorta on May 28 said the construction of a solar power plant will bring progress to the municipality.
The National Power Corporation (Napocor) held the groundbreaking of the 120-kilowatt solar power plant last March.
The power plant will cost P54 million to build.
The Leyte politiko said the solar power plant is expected to lower electricity prices in the island.
“Hopefully this will lower the electricity rates of Limasawa,” Petracorta said.
“This is also environment-friendly since there is no carbon emission in solar power,” he added.
