Mayor Chiong: Naga reviewing MOA for purchase of Balili property
Naga City Mayor Kristine Chiong said the city government is reviewing the draft memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the sale of the controversial 24.7-hectare Balili property for P100 million.
The Cebu provincial government’s selling price of P100 million is P20 million cheaper than the Naga city government’s proposed purchase price.
Chiong said that under the MOA, the P100 million price will be paid by the Naga city government on an installment basis for three years.
“P100 million ang gibutang sa draft and installment sab sya,” she said.
“Ang price (P100 million) na sa original nga sale. Gipaulian lang sa Cebu provincial government ngadto sa Naga. Ongoing pa ang review namo sa MOA,” Chiong added.
The property is still subject to litigation before the Sandiganbayan following graft charges filed against former Cebu governor and now 3rd District Representative Gwen Garcia over its anomalous purchase.
