Malay LGU prepping for Boracay opening day
The local government units of Malay is now preparing for the reopening of Boracay island on October 26.
The island, which was closed to tourists for six months to make way for its rehabilitation, is ready to accommodate guests again, according to executive assistant for Boracay Affairs Rowen Aguirre.
“Definitely the opening is a go,” Aguirre said in The Daily Guardian report.
He said that a total of 25 hotels and resorts have already been accredit by the Department of Tourism.
“A 10-day dry run will be held starting Oct 15 to determine the island’s readiness,” the official said.
