Magpaliwanag kayo! Hinigaran mayor questions release of 19 drug suspects
Hinigaran, Negros Occidental mayor Jose Nadie Arceo is fuming over the release of 19 persons nabbed in a drug bust by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Arceo, who noted one of the 19 was a high-value target in his town, said the PDEA ordered the release “without my knowledge but they coordinated before the apprehension.”
He said there was no reason for their release as the reglementary period had not lapsed, though police records showed the 19 were released after the reglementary period.
Police records showed the 19 were arrested at Pantalan Daan in Barangay 1 in Hinigaran last June 8.
Arrested were Joey Sicuan Nillosan, 40; Joffrey Japitana, Benjamin Enrile, Warlito Japitana, Mark Mongcal, Leo Sano, Arron Gayo, Michael Amon, Randy Diamante, Horosomon Enrile, Pablo Enrile, Salvador Galino, Michael Enrile, John Suanque, Jose Mongcal, Russel Suanque, Jose Crisellino, Dominado Caber, and Eduardo Villanueva.
The 19 were released morning of June 10 after they were brought to the Hall of Justice in Bacolod for inquest proceedings.
