Maghanap na ng detour ‘bay! Cebu’s Mananga Bridge III to undergo rehab this April
Attention, motorists taking the Mananga Bridge III in Cebu: the structure at Barangay Lawaan in Talisay City will undergo much-needed rehabilitation starting April 27.
Cebu Provincial Traffic Management Focal Person Joy Tumulak said the Department of Public Works and Highways 7 will undertake the rehabilitation.
Tumulak, after meeting with district engineer Leslie Anthony Molina, said the project is due for completion within 70 days (http://www.cebu.gov.ph/news/tumulak-mananga-bridge-iii-rehab-start-april-27/).
Plans have been mapped out to address the anticipated vehicle congestion in the area.
According to Tumulak, the DPWH plans to enforce full closure of the northbound lane of the bridge while the rehab work is ongoing.
He said the DPWH can implement a scheme to ensure that traffic flow at the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) will be unhampered.
The DPWH’s traffic scheme includes opening the southbound lane of the bridge to a two-way traffic from 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.
Also, traffic managers are willing to extend assistance to DPWH in ensuring smooth traffic flow during the rehabilitation works.
Tumulak said they will not hesitate to apprehend vehicles illegally parked along the bridge.
