Jamjam Baronda leads survey for Treñas-commissioned poll for Iloilo rep
Will former councilor Julienne “Jamjam” Baronda be Iloilo City Rep. Jerry Treñas’ candidate for Congress in 2019?
Treñas, now serving his last 3-year term as congressman, recently conducted a “consensus voting” among barangay captains and coordinators to determine his lineup for next year’s elections, Panay News reported.
The polls showed that Baronda (127 votes) was the preferred candidate over former councilor Nielex Tupas (39 votes).
On one hand, Councilor Jay Treñas (171 votes), Alan Zaldivar (161 votes), Councilor Julie Grace Baronda(158 votes), Jojo Javellana (158 votes) and Atty. Rommel Duron (146 votes) topped the voters’ list of individuals running for City Council.
Rudolph Ganzon (144 votes), Councilor Mandrie Malabor (143 votes),Gilbert Garcia (141 votes), Councilor Ely Estante (133 votes), Councilor Armand Parcon (117 votes), Councilor Candice Tupas (102 votes), and former councilor Reyland Hervias (96 votes) entered the Magic 12.
The filing of the certificates of candidacy for the 2019 midterm elections will start in October 2018.
