Iloilo City named contender for DILG’s good local governance sea
The Iloilo City has been named one of the contenders for the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
National validators went to the City Hall last September 5 to conduct interviews with city officials and to personally look initiatives the local government unit has done in the past year.
“The validators were impressed with the city’s programs and projects, and assured a positive overall feedback of the evaluation,” the city government said.
The validators who visited the Iloilo City were Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) V Laurice Pia Oliveros and LGOO II Jill Lovella Abrigo, both from DILG Region IV-A, Quezon Province, accompanied by DILG-VI’s LGOO II Karen Joy Mansuelo who served as facilitator/documenter.
According to the Iloilo City government, SGLG looks into the good financial housekeeping, peace and order, disaster preparedness, environmental management, health and social services, and business friendliness of the city, among others.
Awarding is expected to be held in later this year.
