House panel sets probe on housing projects for Yolanda victims in Tacloban, Eastern Samar
A House of Representatives committee will probe the “snail-pace” implementation of housing projects in Yolanda-hit areas to be led by Negros Occidental Rep. Albee Benitez.
The House committee on Housing and Urban Development, chaired Benitez, is set to conduct today a followup hearing on the implementation of housing relocation and resettlement projects for those affected by the typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
Among those who are called to attend the probe is Engineer Camilo Salazar, a subcontractor from Eastern Samar.
Salazar will testify on the alleged construction of substandard housing by J.C Tayag Builders, the main contractor of the National Housing Authority for the Yolanda Housing projects in the province.
Both J.C Tayag Builders NHA have also confirmed attendance on the said hearing to address the issues.
