Gov Marañon wants to take Negros beyond sugar
Business is sweet, but they’re off looking for alternatives.
Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. has successfully charted Negros Occidental to retain its identity as the sugar capital of the Philippines. However, he wants to take things a step further by exploring other crops which they can plant and gain from.
The politiko put together the “Sugar & More” Negros Summit to look for alternative products and harvests which local farmers can produce in order to diversify sources of income.
