Gov Degamo happy over Negros Oriental police chief’s relief
Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo said he is glad that former provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Edwin Portento has been relieved of his duties.
The Negros Oriental politiko made the statement amid the probe into the murder of a radio broadcaster in Dumaguete City.
Degamo said he did not have confidence Portento could handle a speedy investigation of the murder.
“I’m happy for that because I want a fast and serious investigation on this matter,” he said.
“I believe, as governor, Portento cannot do it,” Degamo added.
