Gov Davide orders Badian, Dalaguete to co-manage Osmeña Peak
Governor Hilario Davide III has ordered the municipalities of Badian and Dalaguete to co-manage the disputed Osmeña Peak.
The Cebu politiko, in an executive order (EO), created a joint management committee that will oversee the operations and management of the ecotourism destination.
But the Davide’s EO said Osmeña Peak is part of Barangay Patong in Badian.
Davide said the co-management of the site means revenue-sharing between Badian and Dalaguete.
He also said, Dalaguete must be included in the joint management committee because it is “the only convenient” access to Osmeña Peak via Barangay Mantalongon.
“Osmeña Peak as an ecotourism destination is a shared responsibility of the national government, the local governments concerned and other stakeholders, thus, all efforts toward that end must adhere to the guidelines prescribed,” Davide’s EO stated.
