Don’t panic about Ben Ramos’ killing, VG Lacson tells Negrenses
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson asked the public to keep calm following the murder of National Union of the People’s Lawyers (NULP) founder Benjamin Ramos Jr.
Ramos, one of the lawyers who assisted the families of victims of the Sagay massacre last month, was gunned down by motorcycle-riding men and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
“There is no reason for fear and panic,” Lacson said in a Watchmen Daily Journal article.
The politiko directed the appropriate authorities to “do their jobs to maintain peace and order.”
He also denied that killings have become more frequent in the province.
“Nobody can say there is a breakdown in peace and order in the province,” the gubernatorial candidate said.
