Bohol Mayor Gisela’s secretary is vital piece in murder puzzle
Where is the secretary of slain Bien Unido, Bohol Mayor Gisela Boniel?
That’s the question on the minds of local police authorities even as they try to piece together the events of the alleged murder of the lady politiko at Bien Unido Double Barrier Reef Dive Camp last week.
The alleged mastermind of the shocking crime is Bohol Board Member Niño Rey Boniel, the mayor’s own husband.
Central Visayas police intelligence chief Senior Supt. Jonathan Cabal said in an Inquirer report Monday (June 12) that the secretary, whom he declined to identify, is missing. Her husband, identified as Lobo Boniel, also cannot be located.
“She (the secretary) is the wife of Lobo. The secretary may have knowledge on the conspiracy to kill the mayor,” Cabal was quoted as saying.
The police official bared that it was the secretary who asked the mayor to go to the diving resort last Tuesday (June 6) because she had some documents to sign. An argument ensued between Gisela and Niño Rey at the resort.
Gisela, whose body was wrapped in a blanket and fishnet, was then shot and dumped at sea via pump boat. Police said that Lobo was the son of the pump boat’s owner.
Niño Rey and Lobo are reportedly distant relatives.
