Boatman to be tapped as state witness in Bohol mayor murder: I saw husband kill Gisela Boniel; I was paid P10K to shut up
A pumpboat operator is being eyed as a state witness in the abduction and murder of Mayor Gisela Boniel of Bien Unido town in Bohol province by her husband, Bohol provincial board member Nino Rey Boniel.
Rolito Boniel said he saw Nino Rey, his cousin, gun down Gisela after he took them to in the middle of sea off the coast of Punta Engano in Lapu-Lapu City.
Boniel said the mayor was unconscios when she was taken on his boat by Nino Rey and two other companions.
When she regained conciousness, the couple had an argument which ended when Nino Rey shot her, according to Rolito.
Gisela’s body was wrapped in fishnet and attached with heavy objects to keep her below the water lines.
Rolito claimed that he was paid P10,000 to shut up. He said he was asked by Nino Rey to bring his banca to the resort.
The body of Gisela, a commercial pilot, is still missing.
Nino Rey and two others have been arrested for the alleged murder.
