Beware: Mayor Jed Mabilog reveals the latest modus of Iloilo scammers

The latest scam involves the promise of being appointed as barangay chairmen.

Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog sounded the alarm against men pretending to be working for the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), whose latest modus operandi involves asking for money in exchange of getting nominated as village chief in Iloilo City.

Mabilog busted their sneaky routine on Facebook, and even asked residents to report such individuals to the city hall.

According to DILG, the favors are being dangled via text or phone call priced at P1,000 for every “nomination.”

These scammers are apparently taking advantage of the postponement of the October 2017 barangay polls.

They get more creative as the days come!
