Bacolod police chief Wanky vows to bust more cybersex dens
Following the rescue of seven minors in a cybersex den last week, the Bacolod City police have intensified their efforts to track down similar dens.
City acting police chief Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky said they are not discounting the possibility there could be more cyber sex dens in the city.
“We are strictly monitoring this and we are on the lookout for these,” he said.
Last July 13, the Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center Visayas Field Unit based in Cebu City rescued seven minors, including a two-year-old boy, from a suspected cybersex den in a barangay in Bacolod.
Arrested was a 35-year-old suspected operator of the den, who allegedly used her two children aged two and five in cyber sex shows.
Investigation showed the suspect catered to foreign customers, who pay through money remittance.
But Wanky said the police will need help from other concerned sectors of society.
“The rescue manifests the committed efforts of the PNP to put a stop to this. The others should do their share,” he said.
